In 2026, the United States of America, commemorates its 250th birthday! Mid Kentucky Chorus will celebrate this momentous occasion with the music of America and our home state, Kentucky. This concert will premiere Teresa Tedder’s latest composition, Kentucky, Our Home, a multi- movement, multi-media, work for choir, soloists, and instrumental ensemble. Through music and poetry, the majestic mountains of eastern Kentucky, the mighty Ohio River, bustling cities, tranquil and pastoral countrysides and the pioneer spirit of Kentuckians will be presented. Abraham Lincoln will be honored with selections from With Malice Toward None. Folk songs of America and a medley of songs about great American cities and states round out this commemoration of our beloved land.
